I am happy to announce a new addition to my barn! And honestly, I wasn’t even really looking for my next partner – more just observing what was available and in budget. But when I first laid eyes on him in his sales pictures, the dreamy eyes are started.
I am pretty practical when it comes to making large purchases. I like to think through things, research, and come to a decision in my own time. It came as much of a surprise to me when I said yes, I want him! in less than 24 hours. Sometimes, you just have to go with your gut plus listen to your trainer!
Below are the first photos I saw.
What a dreamboat right? I clearly have a type – tall and bay. Bay horses have always been my favorite, and I actually have only ever owned bay horses. Meet Theodore! I found him at Maidstone Farm in Canada and worked with his breeder, Angela. She was fabulous and made the process fun and uncomplicated. I had never imported or brought a horse over from another country so that was something new I had to learn. I will cover those details in another post.
Theodore is a coming 4 year old German Oldenburg Verband by Le Primeur (Laptop). He’s currently 17 hands and big baby. I did not travel to meet him so when he stepped off the trailer was my first time to see him in person. It was pretty much love at first and I have not been disappointed. He is settling in well and is quite the gentleman.
Thank you so much to everyone who has shared in my excitement and have encouraged me along the way. I appreciate it more than you will ever know!
